wyowolf Exactly what happened to me, I bought her a nice stable SS bowl and put it on the rug/HW floor, she took one sip then grabbed it and dumped it all over the floor...

sigh... ok... Water is OUTSIDE from now on

njk My pup is 8 months this week and has settled down a bit with this, though she does still love her water playing. My mum would always act like I was the worst pet owner because I didn't a water bowl inside the house, only outside. I tried explaining but she'd act like I was exaggerating how bad it was. Now though, when we take Zelda to her house the first thing she does before I let Zelda off the leash is pick up her own dog's inside water bowl and put it up on the kitchen bench. She learned the hard way!

Unless you think it's cute and laugh and tell the pup how adorable it is. Then it can last for a while.

The worst is when they take a couple of drinks and then decide to try and carry it to another part of the house to finish drinking.
Athena used to do that with her food bowl... lol puppy kibble is hard to find scattered all over the kitchen floor.... then when that stage was over she would lay down to eat .... still making a mess...

Susan_GSD_mom LOL, you are forgetting that they are SO intelligent, that if they are bored, they will create their own entertainment with whatever is handy!

I am hoping it is not a life trait... right now I keep my girls separate while I am not there to supervise their playtime (because of ears) but I am hoping to put them together within the next month-2 months. Eden using their water as a bathtub will be a bit of an obstacle... ;p;

carmspack how about this one --- a dog who wants the hose turned on so that they can catch the spray , paws at the hose nozzle , then goes to the tap at the back of the house , hundred feet or more away and barks at the tap handle . "knows" how to turn it on.

First time it happened I thought the kids were calling the dog through the open screened window . They were not even in the house .
