Cheyanna My mom and I were driving from Ca to Tx with Fiona and Gilda. We stopped in Phoenix at a dog park. The parking lot was up and the dog park was down. So I took Fiona down the incline to the park, when we got to the gate, I herd my mom yell. Gilda had pulled her down. So I hiked up the incline with Fiona to get Gilda. So with Fiona and Gilda in hand, I turn and head down the incline when Gilda took off. I fell flat on my belly and dropped Fiona's leash. They both ran to the gate and someone let them inside. The dog park had 10 dogs when we arrived. Within 2 minutes, we were the only ones in the park.

Only time I was thankful for my belly. Kept me from slamming my face in the ground.

Lilie Who was it on this forum that shared pictures of her dog tied to her lawn chair (while at an dog event) and the dog tipping her & chair over? They caught it in pictures. To this day, I never tie my dogs to my chair!!!!

wolfstraum I have seen quite a few injuries caused by long lines....nylon ones especially will cause bad burns at the mildest.....broken ankles not uncommon either!

as far as falling....I was at a seminar a few weeks ago....after spending 10 months getting my crazy male under control where he will walk onto a field quietly and calmly - and fire when given a release, I was trying to bring him on field in high drive on a flat collar....Well - given my right leg is more metal and still totally screwed up....he was doing his banshee scream and pulling and I fell flat on my face.....no one who did not know me would have ever guessed I had ever trained let alone titled a dog before - I was so out of snyc with this scenerio!!!

onyx'girl Someone that use to train with us is now out west with a new club. On Saturday her Dutchie was running blinds and the long line tripped her up, causing her to break her wrist badly. Watching where the line is is crucial but accidents still happen.

Juliem24 Usually I just walk into walls etc, but oh my...worst one I tripped over my own foot while showing a spirited little Arab filly in halter and she dragged me around the ring a couple of times before she got tired of it.
Once I foolishly got tangled in the huskies lines while getting hooked up to the sled, thank god the brake was on but I felt like a complete fool.
Most recently, teaching Rudy to do figure eights through my legs. He's tall enough to knock into me and knocked me over, we were completely entangled in the long line and he was horrified cuz I couldn't stop laughing!

Darth_Ariel Between the long line and my own two feet it's a wonder I don't fall more than I do.
Today we were working on going around some concrete blocks and sure enough my big clunky boots got stuck and I took a knee into the side of them. Not even 5 minutes later I tried to trip myself by pulling the long lead with it wrapped around my ankles.

I feel like something should be said for when the dog fell on my face. He launched himself at me, my butt hit the ground and my face broke his landing.

Ellimaybel Not to change the subject, but while it's in the same area I was wondering if anyone else has a dog that trips on their face constantly? Gunther trips me all the time, but I was wondering. He has tripped over his own feet more times than I can count.

Colie CVT Leashes are evil that way! I swear somehow my dogs figure out how to tangle me like nothing else! It just kills me that it's my own feet that love to make me fall onto my face just because they don't want to react quickly enough lol.

I literally tripped over my own feet once walking a little quicker toward a trash can after getting up a bunch of steep rocks without falling. Oh flat ground.

onyx'girl I've been dragged due to my willow tree not a redwood posting. Yes, I was corrected bigtime! Though the same day, he took the helper down so I blame it on gravity force....

I've been dragged to the helper after the leather line(with no handle) whipped around my ankle and tied itself in a knot. Fluke!
Rolled my ankle this spring after laying a track....that was the worst! Still recovering and am gimpy more often than not.
