YORCHI Right now my puppies favorite toy are June Bugs. She loves chasing them around at night and catching them. She keeps the patio clear of them lol

As far as supplies, we use retractable leashes and stainless steel bowls. I bought the food container that has a twist on lid for an airtight seal and the biggest travel kennel I could find for our pup.

For toys we give her all the old water bottles we use, she loves to play with them and make the crinkly sounds. She also kicks it around inside the house and it's great for distracting her from biting us or our stuff. We also have a few squeaky toys that have some kind of tail on them so we can throw it across the room and let her chase them. Her favorite toy is a long duck that's both crinkly and squeaky. I tied the legs of it with a long string to a broom handle and use it to make her chase it.

I drag it across the floor in random directions and let her chase and catch it and chew on it. I also lift it up in the air as she chases it and she loves jumping up and catching it.

NovaB Again, thank you all for the responses! I bought a few things from petco (Kong, clicker, nature's miracle, puppy shampoo) and then a massive oops I spent too much order from Elite K9.

The only thing I have left really is deciding whether to keep him on the same food the breeder currently has him on (Bil Jac) or picking a new brand. I don't want to mess with his stomach but I don't really like what I'm reading about the Bil Jac. Too many choices!!

Bob_McBob The biggest realization for me was that most pet store toys are made for dog owners, not dogs. Bite tugs and other dog training equipment are so much useful. There are a few good things usually available like certain Chuckit and Kong products (which are also sold at SchH/police/military supply stores), but your dog doesn't care about cutesy designs that don't hold up to real use.

wolfstraum Leashes, harness, collars, long lines - leather or beata....I get custom made by a harness maker and usually have a few to sell....

Toys - tried everything! Cuz, kong, soft toys....best toy out there for play and pacifier is the Everlasting Green Ball....you can get them in a couple sizes and even on a rope

Dishes - Stainless steel - tractor supply type place - same with crates....I have not ever fed elevated....

Supplements - K9Power Products

High end long lasting truck crates - WT Metal....Roy Sorenson in NJ - $$$ but great for transporting or for dogs who are escape artists.

Cara Fusinato Probiotics -- my favorite is Animal Essentials probiotics & digestive enzymes. Can be made into paste for enzymic dental cleaning AND included with every meal to calm those grumbly tummies that can lead to bloat.

www.dogtagart.com THE absolute best most amazing dog tags on the planet. Millions of designs OR easily upload your own pic or graphic. I have the swivel hanger and I actually have TWO tags with one being regular contact info and the other being the microchip number and contact number. They hang back to back. I hang the county dog license in between. This way whichever way it swings you see amazing custom full color tags. They are porcelain baked on metal core and quaranteed for life. I just purchased a small for my new sheltie pup and a large for when he grows up. They have glow in the dark tag protectors/semi-silencers that are great too. Enjoy. Who needs an ugly metal tag when you can have custom art? (Mine are 2 views of the Shay locomotive my boy is named after, two different roses with sheet music for my sheltie girl Melody Rose, and my Cubby puppy Little Red Caboose has a red caboose on his tag and his second tag when I get him chipped is a train going off into the distance with view from the back at the red caboose.)

Sunflowers You are welcome.
Not necessary to elevate food bowls. Might even cause bloat, although that is disputed.

NovaB Thank you for the help everyone! What does everyone use for nail Clippers?

Also, is it important to have food/water bowls elevated?

Edit: Sunflowers I saw a link you posted for Clippers. Thank you for all of the links everyone, much appreciated!

Kahrg4 Pet safe liquid bandage spay has been a life saver for me. Cafall has injured his paw pads, dew claws, and had a few skin maladies. It is so great to have something on hand to cover the boo-boos with after getting him cleaned up.
