carmspack forgot all about Haggarty who used to advertise in all the old Dog World magazines.

carmspack yeah, Konrad Most pretty much organized the German military dog training effort with concepts of using prey drive and compulsion, shaping behaviour and chaining.

William Koehler whose training theories were the standard till maybe the late 70s (?) did training for military / police , later Disney studios .

In between then and now, there were Saunders and others , all modifications of a basic theme.

dano1427 Have you read Training Dogs: A Manual by Col. Konrad Most? One of the first dog training books. Archaic, but he was ahead of his time in terms of training theory.
