selzer I took speech in my first year of college.

I wish I would have waited. I was sixteen years old and really, did not have much experience with anything at that point, which means speeches that were probably lacking in substance.

Worse yet, in 6 years of college and beyond, I never had to give so much as an oral report beyond that speech class. No biggie. Hitler was great at public speaking and moving the masses with his ideas. It does not mean he was a great guy.

If you are interested in inspiring black people, read up on Booker T. Washington, I think I like his ideas and methods better than MLK. I will leave the Obama statements be -- too current, and it would definitely send this thread into the realms of banned topics.

Again, your writing makes no sense. If you want to be somebody, and be somebody that others take seriously, you need to improve your writing skills so that those great ideas you have are understood by others. How can you "express yourself" properly if you can't write a cohesive sentence? For someone who thinks "expressing yourself" is so important, you sure aren't doing it very well, at least not in writing.

MLK had a quote forecer living "Never, never be afraid to do what's right especially if the well-being is a person or animal is at stake. How many of you can speak or are willing to speak in front oc thousands or millions without hesitation like Obama?
Look, I took drama in high school, too. Drama classes taught me a lot and helped me a lot; I was one of those people who didn't really fit in to any social group. We had a great teacher, put on several plays for the public, and spoke in front of crowds. I was a drama geek. No way would I insult drama classes.

But you're missing something. Expressing oneself is an important skill, but it must be done in a way that others can understand, if you want to get your message across. Frankly, you're doing a terrible job expressing yourself online, in writing, because no one can seem to figure out what you're trying to say.

Maybe you're really good at public speaking, I don't know, but your writing skills are so poor that you're coming across like a crazy person. I'm not diagnosing you with a mental illness, because I'm not a doctor. I'm saying that the way you write makes you seem like you have a personality disorder. Maybe you're dyslexic or something? If you want to be taken seriously, you need to fix this. At least think about what you are writing. Before you post, read it back to yourself and ask yourself "does this make sense to the average reader?"

Expressing oneself does not mean simply vomiting upon the page and then expecting everyone to bow down and praise your ideas. And getting frustrated when it seems like no one understands. Expressing yourself in the wrong way can land you in a mental ward, if not prison. Expressing yourself in a way that other humans can understand is key.

So if you really want to "express yourself" properly, take some writing classes, get an English tutor, read and study the English language, and write down your ideas in a coherent way. Then take a course in Logic & Critical Thinking. This will help you organize your thoughts and ideas, discard the ones that are based in fallacy, and explore the ones that are worth exploring.

Until you present your ideas in a coherent, intelligent, logical way, you have no business calling anyone else "closed-minded".

JakodaCD OA I again agree with Nancy.

I also think most adults DO NOT think themselves "superior" to youth. Some may just have more experience than you and when you come off sounding "experienced", your written word definitely takes away from that, making you sound "inexperienced", so why should people take you seriously?

Your lack of experience just shines thru in your postings, sorry but true.

When you are relying on the written word, you need to learn to express yourself in WRITING. Sometimes, it is very hard to understand what you are saying because your writing skills are weak. Take that as a suggestion because you are not effective at getting across your points. This is a growing problem in our society. A prime example is that we still don't have a clue about the jumping comment.

It seems many of your posts express a concern about what others think. Why do you care so much that people think you are some great dog trainer/communicator or that you are a "strong person"? This is very self-absorbed, narcissistic behavior.

The MLK quote is questionable as to its authenticity.

Whatever the heck this: "My impression is that you have so much bearing inside of you that meaning of life is so sad. We have to express ourselves everyday or we are in trouble much worse than society's punishment s" means, I have no clue.

I have so much bearing inside of me that meaning of life is so sad? Really? Wow! All I known is the meaning of this is beyond me.

We have to express ourselves everyday or we are in trouble much worse than society's punishments? If we accept that, than we are accepting being a slave to the need of expressing ourselves. We really do not have to express ourselves everyday at all. When we are comfortable within our own skin, the need to express ourselves to others becomes much less urgent. It is then that others tend to listen more to what we have to say, it is when what we have to say has substance.

The need to express ourselves is in fact insecurity. It is the need to see reflected in others' responses to our communication, a validation of our selves. When we are comfortable within our own skin, we need not rely so heavily on what others think of us, our opinions, our actions.

As for society's punishments, what were we talking about? What does any of this have to do with society's punishments? I think you forgot to write a few sentences between your initial statement and your last statement because I just don't see the connection at all.

But selzer, you don't get it so maybe you are just an old uncool fogie (lolol whatever that is). The pants are not sagging because of carelessness. It's the result of careful design and planning. On some boys they must be glued right under their butt because them staying there is defying every law of physics.

But back on topic. I don't know what it is but back to it

Trust me. My very first bf wore saggy pants, I was young and stupid...lol it was because he belted them nearly half way down his butt.
