MaggieRoseLee We sometimes give our dogs too much credit and THINK they will stop something before it's dangerous for them, but they don't. So we need to step it up to manage the situation to keep them healthy. (I know my Bretta will keep playing until she gets heat stroke, so I have to stop way before she's ready).

unable to control bladder

My 2 1/2 yo male shepherd has trouble controlling his bladder ONLY after drinking very excessive amounts of water. It only happens after he's been out in the snow for hours eating endless amounts of snow or after swimming and drinking endless amounts of water while he is in it. He will pee a lot, which I expect. But, then sometimes he will start peeing and act like he is surprised by it. Like he can't control it. And I know he can't control it because he will do it on places like in our house or on our deck, and as he is going he will try to run to the yard to go where he knows he is supposed to pee.
im wondering if this is normal, or something I should be worried about?
Again, I am not worried about incontinence. He hasn't had more than one or two 'accidents' in the house since he has been potty trained over two years ago. He is very good at controlling his bladder every other time.
Thanks so much!
