HarleyTheGSD Yes, it's very nice. Especially when we're training in the yard.

SuperG Having a dog which comes back to you upon your request ...especially during excitable moments is a real treat.

The Call-Back

People walk past our house a lot, and we have neighbors surrounding us. Harley and Cookie will start barking, and it's practically impossible to get them to stop. I have to pull them inside. Now, neither of them pose a threat. Harley barks because he's insecure, and Cookie barks just to entertain herself.
Varick doesn't always bark, but when he does, he is serious. He is letting people know that trespassers are not allowed on the premises. And it's very easy to get him to stop and come inside. He is very oriented with me. I call him to me when he barks, and he comes happily. I can distract him with tug or affection. It's so easy! It's nice that he is very "me" motivated.
