Thank you all. Basically the responses I expected.
I read things about how people don't like to feed puppy versions of food because it promotes too much growth that could cause health issues later.
Should I some time soon feed him the adult version of his food?

At 9 weeks he shouldn't need wet food added unless you wish to.
I always start with the bag recommendation and then look at the dog and adjust as needed. So if I knew there was a lot of exercise being done that day I would add a little extra, same as if I knew it would be a quiet day I would cut back a little. If I noticed the puppy getting chunky I would cut back a little, if I saw the ribs or backbone too much I would add a little
Go with the dog's current condition and you shouldn't have a issue

|eddie1976E||Most puppy foods have a chart that says if your puppy is xxx months and weighs yyy, you should feed zzz cups. Two cups would be ok at this point, but as he is growing he needs more food. Go by his body condition and adjust. Mine was eating 2-3 cups a day of Fromm LBP when he was 10 weeks old. He is up to 4-5 depending on his activity level for the day. He is a lean ~40 lbs at 17 weeks. Mostly, I would watch the puppy and adjust as needed. The instructions on the bags are just a guideline.|

Few puppy feeding questions.
Hi, names Steve. I've been reading around the forum for a few weeks since I got a 6 week old gs. He's now 9 weeks, 13 pounds as of last week.
I am feeding him Wellness for puppies. It's what the couple I got him from were feeding him. Seems like the ingredients are good and he gobbles it up.
I've been going by the recommended feeding on the bags and can but it seems a pretty generic, I mean a dog that's going to get bigger should eat more than a dog that's staying small no?
It says about 2 cups of dry, and to replace 1/3 of it for every 6 ounces of wet. I want to get him to eat only dry food eventually but should I stay going by what the bag suggests? And anything particularly wrong with Wellness?
Thank you all so much, from me and Gizmo.
