wolfy dog For our old dog we gave it subq and it gave him a few more comfortable years, so it worked well.

JeanKBBMMMAAN I buy the stuff online at Dr. F/S and then the vet office does it for a small injection fee, or if she has an appointment, nothing. I'd ask about that option.

I asked my vet about doing it at home, expressing concern about sub q vs. IM and he said it was at the molecular level that you had to be concerned - the size of the molecules in the whole solution are not ones that should be introduced sub-q. So, IM at the vet office.

Cara Fusinato I gave it myself sub-Q to an Aussie. It didn't help him much and was awfully expensive. I don't think it applied to his issue though.

Kyndaara There are studies out there that sub-q is just as effective as IM.

Anubis_Star I have seen reports that absorption subq is greatly decreased so may not work as well. Cats often get it subq but their dose is usually doubled when given that way (do not change doses without speaking to your vet), I've always given it IM in dofs

kiya I give the injections myself it's really easy.

Msmaria I have the vet give it in the muscle. I have read someplaces that it makes a difference, but other reads say it doesnt. I think if it works for your dog and you can give it yourself, why not? , its much cheaper that way and you can save money.
