|Steffi's owner||So I saw the vet yesterday and good news! Phew. The vet said it's not cancer and feels and looks like a skin infection and/or injury.|

|huntergreen||i could guess and have 50% chance of being right. what i am trying to say is there is no way to give an educated opinion on this. sorry they only thing you can do is get an opinion from the vet. i also know waiting is the hardest part.|

4 years is not a magic number that they "start getting cancer", in fact neoplasia is largely considered a geriatric disease so you would expect it to not pop up until 7-8 years or older, but if a young dog is going to get it it could be 1 yr could be 3....
And lump near a sexual organ that does not go away is concerning and should be checked out, regardless of age

|Stevenzachsmom||I hope it turns out to be nothing. It is good that you are having the vet check it out. Please keep us posted.|

I found a small lump on my 1 year old German Shepherd's scrotum. It's not on the testicle but more on the skin of the scrotum. It's a bit hard and the size of a small pea. Can this be cancer? I found it last week and thought I'd wait a week because it could be just a bite or something but it hasn't gone away. I just made a vet appointment but won't see him till next week. Now I'm getting worried.
