Puppy breeder in/around CT

Hi all,
I'm brand new to these forums, but I was hoping for some advice as I am looking into my first puppy! I live in CT currently, but would be willing to travel slightly outside the state for the right pup. I'm looking for a straight back Shepard, mostly for a companion/family pet. It seems that many of the breeders around here breed show dogs, which have the sloped back.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
Thanks!
