mydogs Have you had his stool checked for coccidia or Giardia? My pup had coccidia at 9 weeks and now again at 8 months. They checked his stool last week they didn't see anything. Checked this past Friday and there it was. Digestive enzymes help and pure pumpkin for loose stools.

SARpup I just got my boy and the breeder had him on Kirkland puppy food. I changed cold turkey to Wolf Cub, mostly because he wouldn't eat the puppy food anyway! He didn't want to eat the Wolf Cub either but now I put a spoon of cottage cheese in the food and mix it really well. He eats now but this morning he left some in the bowl. He is not a big eater! He is 12 weeks, his last check up was a week before I got him and he weight 23 pounds. I will have him in to the vet in 2 weeks and see. I give him one cup three times a day. His poo is fine so far! He had watermelon (my daughter had it and shared!) yesterday and now has a duck foot today so we shall see how all that goes!
I am pleased so far because he was itching soooo bad when I got him and now he has stopped that is the other reason I changed foods. It has help a bunch! No more itchy puppy!

samadamsrtr He weighed 21 lbs at last checkup and is now 14 weeks. I would say he's probably gained 5 lbs since our last checkup. We go again at the end of the month.

The food chart says for his age and weight he should get 3 1/3- 4 1/3 cups daily and he gets 1 1/2 cup per meal.

Solid Gold Wolf Cub Problems

He is young they can dehydrate easily. I would go back to what breeder was feeding or add half of puppy chow half solid gold stay at that for a week then less puppy chow for a week. Do a slower change it can take weeks to switch completely. Add some plain pure pumpkin to help with watery stools

Solid Gold Wolf Cub Problems

Hey everyone!

I got my puppy about 3 weeks ago. He is full blooded and wonderful!

The breeder had him on puppy chow so I wanted to switch that quickly. We decided on solid gold wolf cub and slowly weaned off puppy chow.

At first his stool was fine but after a week of only wolf cub his stool is very loose and sometimes watery. He poops several times a day.

For those that used this brand, how long did your pups stomach take to adjust to solid gold? Does anyone have tips on what I should do next?

Thanks!!
