Harry and Lola I'm not familiar with Fromm but I looked up the ingredients and it has quite a few proteins - duck, chicken, fish and lamb plus grains, so could be an allergy. You would have to allergy test him to find out.

The recent vaccination is a thought, if he has just starting itching after receiving his vaccine, then there could definitely be a link. If you think you have a good and open minded Vet, discuss this.

In the meantime get some raw organic virgin coconut oil and give a flat teaspoon to start with either straight off the spoon or mixed into food. You can also rub the oil into areas puppy is scratching.

amorican88 He is on Fromm Large Breed Puppy. He has been fine on it thus far.

Also, fleas or other bugs are out. He is treated for them. Besides getting his adult coat he just had his 2nd set of vaccinations on Saturday. Any possible link there?

Thanks again.

Harry and Lola If you think he is scratching himself more than normal, you might want to look at possible allergies. What are you feeding him.

Itchy Puppy

Hey all,

Have a 11 week old GSD, male, pup. He is doing great. Although, just in the last couple days he has scratching himself everywhere, constantly. He whines, and cries a little sometimes, too when scratching.

Not sure what to think. I believe he is starting to lose his puppy fur and growing in his adult coat. Could this cause this new found scratching?
