HOBY Way to young. Let Stella play at her own speed at this stage. Light training is good. Walking your intended route at Stella speeds for short periods with breaks on a soft surface is good. Master the heel, most important. In the wild wolf pups join the hunt at 6 to 8 months or when the adult teeth are in. I have started my dogs anywhere from 10 to 18 months depending on condition and overall health. My last boy Prince Jack of Hearts [RIP] had pano at 8 to 10 months and it was little scary. We started at 18 months. Jack lived for 13.5 years.

gsdsar Your friend is correct. Consistent pounding excersise on growing joints is bad for them. Jogging is not recommended for large breed dogs until they are 15-18 months old.

Jogging with my PUPPY

A had a friend tell me it is a bad idea to take my pup jogging with me because it can mess with her hips. Is there any truth to this or do you all thing she will be ok. We go to the vet tomorrow so I will also get her opinion. Thanks. Btw Stella is a 15 week old german shepherd
