I have to keep reminding myself that u guys in the us, canada, uk n all such countries are very particular about barking dogs. Here almost every dog barks at you if you are walking anywhere near their owner's property. It has become so normal that people here prefer it as they feel it would warn intruders against coming anywhere near their house. I have a neighbour whose dog barks all the time except when it is asleep and trust me I couldn't care less n I think it is the same for all the neighbours as no one bothered to report it so far. It is not that we do not train them. They r trained just not socialised properly. We don't have dog parks or pools like u guys. In fact, we can bring our dogs almost no where. It is really sad but we have to be sensitive towards the feelings of the Muslims here who are not allowed to come into contact with any dogs as they r the majority.

|volcano||I bring my girl everywhere and only run across a couple people scared of her. Nobody has said anything bad at all. One lady working at home depot said OMG!!! a dog!, and a lady walking by our house got scared when apache ran up on her. It doesnt take a genius to tell shes a very happy go lucky dog, btw shes dark sable...|

Might think about cameras as well, with audio if possible, not just to catch your neighbor doing something stupid, but to show your dog is not out there barking when they claim he is.|

Calling the cops was the right thing to do imo. My neighbours on each side dislike and are actually afraid of my gsd. One neighbour called the cops because he had our dogs off leash but that didn't change anything.
I have always found it strange when people dislike dogs in general. I've only met one person who wasn't a neighbour, that didn't like dogs and it made me fell weird. To each their own. He's still a cool person.

|njk||It does seem like these two mates have a bit of a thing against your dog, especially if they're making up lies to make you look bad (like your dog being in the yard barking when it isn't). But I agree with the poster who said perhaps try and work on addressing the barking. We're fortunate that our girl isn't a barker but when she does bark (always when we've shut the backdoor and left her behind outside) it is loud and booming and makes me jump. I worry instantly about the neighbours when I hear it, and we're talking a once-a-day bark if that. Perhaps even talk to your other neighbours and see what they have to say?|

Hmm interesting? Other than the window thing (barking at people and this "guy" in particular) your guy does not sound unreasonable??
His dog goes "everywhere " off leash? If thats the case I "assume" his dog has no issues?
