do you think it may be a good idea to stop the bite work , especially for such a young dog, before you have better focus and control?
obedience is important .

|Luna'sMom||I believe she is. I will start using a tug as well then.|

|onyx'girl||Tug is a great way to get engagement and focus. Food will flatten some dogs so mixing up the rewards, building drive is what I would start. She's done teething now?|

Suddenly lost focus
Good morning. I have a six month old girl that seems to have lost her focus. She is very smart, very driven, and certainly has the potential. She was on me like glue from the get go...never took her eyes off me...then I had a litter of puppies (not GSD) last month, and got busy with that and we had an outbreak of KC here, so needless to say, I was pre-occupied.
So, now we are back to training (I do just a few minutes a day here and there...esp before I feed her.) just a few downs, sit, come, heel, look, that sort of thing. Nothing too formal...just shaping. No distractions.
She was perfect, until now. She just cannot stay focused.
Is this a temporary, normal puppy phase, for did taking a couple weeks off really screw us up as a team??
And how do I get back her focus?
Just for fun..here are some pics of her last week. She is a pretty girl, I must say, as we just love her. She started some basic bite work, and LOVED it.
Thanks for any advice.
