Sarah~ Thanks I will do that too! Willing to try anything at this point lol. But coconut oil really looks great I just asked a couple people I know with pits and they love it.

Chip18 Yeah sounds alot like "non specific allergies." I would add the Coconut Oil to her diet also.

Sarah~ Back with an update, Xena had a "massive allergic reaction" - vet's words. I'm so glad I went in when I did. Her whole face and throat and lymph nodes were swelling up. Her mouth hurt because of all the pressure So she got 2 shots and a prednisone prescription. I am supposed to up the benadryl to every 8 hours until her face is better also. And the vet is prescribing hypoallergenic food to start a food trial once she's better. She says in dogs so young it's usually the food. Although she said she suspects Xena is allergic to life lol. We are also going to talk about some incontinence pills finally at her check up on Thursday

Sarah~ Seems like we are having outbreaks with her every few months. Just when I think we are getting a handle on it this happens

We're getting ready to go know, I'll update when I get home

Chip18 Could be Rocky was "always" at the Vet for a shot every Sept for the last 7 years!! Vet siad he sees lots of other dogs same issue same month out here?

So we'll see how it goes this year? But so far he is doing much much better on the Coconut Oil.

Sarah~ Thank you I think I'm going to try that I've heard some good things!

There are all of these like seed pod things falling from the trees the last couple of days I wonder if that is what's making her like this. I can't think of anything else out of the ordinary going on lately.

Chip18 We never had problems with our Boxer and our BullMastiff/APBT mix but our GSD was a itchy nightmare for years! The first years was the worst BLK/GSD so grey skin. His skin turned bright red and he was losing fur like crazy!

Never got as bad as the first year but it was annual vet visits and Fish Oil and Benedryl for years! I started using Coconut Oil some months ago. Huge changes very very minimal scratching every now and then, zero fur loss and no more Benadryl.

The fish oil from the vet never seem to make any difference that I could see and I did not like him getting the annual shots,

Don't know if it will work for your doggie but Coconut Oil is certainly not going to hurt, going forward.

Sarah~ They didn't really say anything just that the first appointment available was at 10:40. She was cold so I'm laying with her on the couch all wrapped up.

She has really really bad environmental allergies she breaks out into hives all over her body but this is the first time I've ever seen anything like this!

Chip18 So sorry it could easily be allergies. If she is on Benadryl being lethargic is to be expected. Good luck at the vet.

wyoung2153 Good you have a vet appointment.. I would almost take her in to an e vet just because ira getting over time.. but when you talked to the vet about bringing her in what did they say to do in the mean time? Is she allergic to something and thats why you thought it was allergies?
