|JakodaCD OA||what type of cream are you using? It could be stinging...I would use DESITIN as in baby diaper rash creme, much more soothing, good for fistulas, and anal gland issues..|

The regular cone type Elizabethan collar just flat freaks some dogs out! Just ditching that for a different style might help lessen the stress.
My BullMastiff/APBT did not like those at all, so I took it off and was able to just tell him...no. Stiches in front paw..happened alot!
No saying that "NO" is the solution but I am saying the cone just freaks some dogs out... lose the old style and try another design.

rymadil and previcox are for inflammation. Previcox is easier on their organs but more expensive.
Jax did ok on tramadol but Chaos was stoned. Personally, I can't take the stuff and I've always wondered if my dogs got the headache from **** the day after taking it too.
Just a thought...Jax had infected elbow callouses that she wouldn't stop licking. It's a vicious circle. Lick because it hurts and then it hurts more because it's licked. I put some Silver Shield Gel on it and it was INSTANT relief for her. I swear by the stuff now. Not sure if it was the colloidial silver or the gel that helped soothe but her elbows healed quickly once I started using it and abx and steroid spray weren't touching it.

|jocoyn||They said it has happened. I don't think he could have reached his flank but he was able to get between his legs to get to his tail by curling up his body.....That long GSD back you know.....it must be pretty darned painful to contort yourself that way to get to it. It is certainly worth trying.|

Tramadol is good for pain but makes them high, like they're still superdog when they really should be resting.
Otto was sent home from his neuter with rymadil. Um no, you've met this dog right?

I use this one for my dogs
But I suspect the growling is not so much associated with the collar but with pain. I agree with Jenn, call the vet.

|jocoyn||I had one dog who defeated a properly sized and fitted bite not. I even called the company. It was the dog with fistulas. It is a good product but it is possible.....they say some figure out the trick.|
