|carmspack||Airports are bee-hives of activity . The environment is not the problem , after all there are many dogs working daily with Customs checking out baggage for banned substances entering the country , whether agricultural , fruit or meat, food, drugs or other . There are other units working bomb detection. They thrive , in the environment because they are active participants in it .|

Airports are one of the most stressful environments, they are much worse than schools. It's the type of noise affecting your brain that matters. Passengers come and go, but many airport workers end up in psychiatric hospitals Noise pollution: non-auditory effects on health
I've read about new Heathrow terminal, close to the airport pasturing cows constantly lose hairs, they have bare spines because of stress. What about dogs, who have much more sensitive ears than cows? I suppose it's alright, if airport visits are just a part of training which would end shortly and never repeated.

which dog there looks like they like being there ?
One looks stressed, one looks depressed .
Shaking my head over the segment which shows a baby positioned directly in front of a reclining spaniel type dog . Baby leans forward right into the face of the dog.
Parent ! , you do not know this dog . That's a big chance you are taking. The dog doesn't know the child. The child can come down with a hammer fist action on the dog , or grab onto the dogs nose , because that is what babies do . This is not the family's dog who may indulge the baby of its own family.
These dogs are still fresh . Tolerance may erode over time during the day . I think that is crazy.
Dogs are not animated toys .
What happened to the lounge to relax weary travellers?

|Blanketback||I stopped participating in events with my group, after one day at a school where the owners were letting the children climb all over their dogs. My dog might not have minded this, but I wasn't going to find out. I was quite disturbed by this, but then other people said: hey, no problem - these TD's love everybody! That doesn't really mesh with my line of thinking.|

I don't like this !
I tend to look at things from the dogs' perspective.
Just this morning I had the TV on as background noise while I was getting some things ready for my afternoon. The programme was Dogs with Jobs. Okay. There is a woman with a dog that is the poster-dog for something "friend not food" where she takes this fuzzy dog and others with their volunteer handlers to Chinese , in China , establishments. In this clip she was at a retirement home of some sort. The mission is to convince Chinese that dogs are friends , pets, not food .
The dogs looked pretty stressed , either rigid , or tongue curled panting , straining away .
Now this airport therapy for stressed travelers.
Dogs still deserve respect for personal space . They don't need to be stimulated by excessive , high emotions attention , hectic in-your-face intrusion , mobbed and mauled .
Sooner or later there will an incident where an animal will have met his threshold and snapped , break down. Even if it is a immune response or accelerated aging.
We tend not to get things right in our relations with dogs .

|Kaimeju||That's great, and heart-warming. I was really worried it was going to be an article about people bringing therapy dogs to airports saying they had access rights. :P|
