My breezeway is between the house and garage, unheated, concrete floor(tiled) and we winterized it, put in a heat duct and I now call it my birdroom. My Senegal and African Grey are in it with a dog crate and a bunch of plants.
Mud gets tracked in....

Isn't a breezeway technically the unheated room between your garage and your house?
I have a friend who calls her mudroom a breezeway and I always slip up calling it a mudroom so she has to correct me, you mean the breezeway. No it's not a breezeway if it's got a wood stove in and it's insulated and all sealed up like a room. It's the mudroom. The room you keep your mud!

|Juliem24||When I lived in Indiana, I heard the breezeway referred to as "the dog trot".|

It's not so much the mud that I don't like, it's the FUR shedding!!
Thankfully, our dog doesn't mind being vacuumed. LOL.

|Jakesworld||Oh how lucky are you? We've had mud and rain for the last 4- 5 months straight ( except for the occasional snow and freeze. But the dogs have managed to stay outa it pretty much. But, the hummingbirds have arrived ! And that's my own personal sign that spring has sprung.|

You know it's for real...
Spring, that is! And you know it's really here with the first muddy dog you hose down! I hooked it up and hosed down Sir Orick, who had turned into the MUD DOG! He wasn't happy about it, but I was ecstatic. Dogs are now in the mud room, Orick trying to lick himself dry, Jade howling because she doesn't think SHE should have to be there, after all...
Oops--I misspoke myself. They are in the BREEZEWAY. We moved here last October (from out in the country), and we are surrounded by (nice) neighbors older than me. Mary, neighbor on the left, corrected me when I mentioned the mud room one day. "Sweetie," she said. "We call that the breezeway." I stand corrected. She is also the lady who asked me a few weeks ago, "Sweetie, don't you like small dogs at all?" as she picked up her ****zu-poo, whatever, while Jade was trying to figure out how she could snatch the little dustmop through the fence...
Jade, stop howling in the BREEZEWAY!
