OZ! I have a stroller... havent used it in a while but planning on it when the weather gets nicer here. I tried that with my other dog a while back & she kept bumping the stroller & getting tripped up but Zephyr (the GSD) is much better than her on leash so I will definately try that.

SunCzarina Have you got a jogging stroller? Get her out walking with the kids. Paying attention to her own feet with the big wheels and watching her surroundings will wear her out so she's not so intense staring at you looking for attention.

OZ! Thank you for replying! Youre right, im thinking about things that havent happened I need to give her a chance. We all go to the park every weekend. Its not a dog park but no one really goes there. Ive taken her jogging just me & her. She is scared of car rides & sometimes gets sick though. Im going to look into some training for her so she can have something to focus on besides just watching me lol there is a place that has free training classes twice a month but its an hour away. There are some closer but pretty expensive.. I will look into it though!

MaggieRoseLee I think you are over thinking this. Her entire life just was 100% changed, through no fault of her own, so she is now just trying to hang onto something that SEEMS safe and secure, you.

I'd act normal to all the dogs/kids. But I would also change MY life for awhile with the addition of this new dog. Making sure I take the car rides to exercise and socialize her. Have her allow herself to open up to the world you are in by going out into it. So she'll learn that you are important and fun but so are other things in life.

Any chance you can go to some type of fun dog classes for a bit? Great EASY way to work on getting the normal leadership role for her, having you get more confident in what a great dog you have, and getting her away from all the things that are freaking YOU out so you can calm down and just enjoy being with her.

Hi all I obtained my sister in laws German Shepherd pup last month. She no longer wanted to care for her so I took her in. Shes about 10 months old & its unclear whether shes registered or anything like that. SIL didnt offer many details. Anyway she has become super attached to me. Shes ab awesome dog very well behaved, learns fast, she just has to be staring & right beside me at all times. I wouldnt mind but I have another dog, mixed breed, and a two year old & I dont know if this could become problematic if she got jealous. I do not want to put my 2 yr old in a risky situation and I dont knlw how to interpret this obsessed attached behavior. I also stay home but I babysit another 2 yr old. Im thinking of rehoming her. I dont want to but I dont want to run the risk of her becoming jealous. she mostly ignores the kids besides an occasional face lick but if im trying to pet my other dog or holding my daughter she wont stop begging for my attention. Trying to climb into my lap & shove others out of the way. What does this behavior mean? Is it normal? Should I worry?
