nktigger99 Okay thanks!! I will be getting one soon. Now I have to figure out when it is safe to take Abby out.

DJEtzel Yep! They are very commonly used on young puppies. Very safe.

nktigger99 Okay....I am not wanting to use it as a corrective tool either but I normally have 3 or more small kids with me so chasing a dog who slipped the collar is just not an option. I was thinking about it when we were at the vet I carried Abby but in the future I want that extra security. But then know that corrective collars usually aren't to be used with young dogs.

Mishka&Milo I've used one on my pup from a very young age. Not as a corrective tool, but to prevent her from ever learning that fabulous "slip the collar" dance move dogs so commonly have.

Martingale collar?

Is it okay to use a martingale collar on a young pup? I usually use one with our older rescues to prevent them slipping their collars. I just use it for leaving the house.
