I wonder if the sign is in a city that outlawed those plastic shopping bags. It seems there is more poop left behind in the cities nearby that have banned them. I started giving my extra plastic bags to people so they did not have to spend $ buying bags to throw away poop.

Perhaps another unintended consequence. Just like when we had to stop using paper bags, because it was using up the trees. No one thought about what will all the plastic bags do and how can I cook my Thanksgiving turkey without a paper bag?

This are is being monitored by video surveillance. If you leave behind your dogs waste you will be hunted down, fined and the waste will be smeared on your head.
Maybe THAT would get their attention.
I like this idea best, that would solve a lot of other problems too.

Sri I think they're just hoping some humor might make a tiny difference.
Perhaps more poop bag dispensers and trash bins make a difference instead.

But people are people. If you are not going to clean up after your dog you really should not be getting a dog. I never realized how much poop is not picked up until we got a dog and started walking him.

Courtney A reminder sign to pick up your dogs poop- no issues at all with that. I always pick up & hate when others don't.

The fairy, I find annoying & all the writing after that becomes bla bla bla for me.

The fairy is extra annoying for me because the receptionist at work uses fairy clip art for everything. Notes in the kitchen to clean up your mess, fairy note on the back of the bathroom doors "if you tinkle when you sprinkle be a sweetie and wipe the seatie". Shoot me now.

So seeing that darn fairy to remind me to pick up my dogs poop is bad timing. LOL

Castlemaid I like it too! The Poop Fairy angle is cute. Though I would have focused on asking people to be responsible and pick up after their pets, without going into detail about the bacteria and smell. It shouldn't be about other people and their issues, it should be about you and doing the proper, responsible thing.

Baillif My sign just would have been "pick up your dog ****."

I like to keep it simple

Nigel Our grounds keep at work put up "kits" - sign, bag dispenser, and receptacle and claims they help.

I was doing backhoe work at a hospital and after I was finished, I had to drive down about 100' of sidewalk. I didn't know my tires had "collected" 2 good sized splotches of dog poop from crossing the lawn and I tracked it along quite a ways. Then some older guy in a wheel chair flagged me down and gave me a lecture about the mess I had created and his perspective of having to negotiate his chair around it. I apologised and hosed it off, but in that guys head it was all my fault, lol!

Jakesworld I don't see anything wrong with it. I feel they wanted to get the message out, while keeping it light and friendly. If they had put up an abrasive cold legal looking sign, what would people do?...the opposite of course. They just want people to pick up their dogs poop is all.
And we all know there are people out there about as dumb as a box of rocks, hence the explanation on why to pick it up.
