Msmaria I think you can expect him to act like the teenager he is. I had Dex from a very young puppy , to whom I was his all and all, and he listened to me very well, until he hit approx 9 months. Thats when he started to ignore the basic commands that he knew and I would have to make him do them. He also didnt sleep as much and wanted to play and go all day and started to become a little destructive. So we had to find more things for him to do. We started an advanced obedience class and looked into nosework etc. Thankfully the teen ager phase only lasted a few months and hes back to his very obedient self, however a little more independent.

Heres some threads I found on 9 month olds/teens, until some more experienced members come by to help you out.

What should I be expecting of my 9 month old?

Just adopted a teenager three weeks ago, wondering about others' experiences. So far he is a little mouthy sometimes but very gentle when he does, good on walks, he has a bit of stranger danger from poor socialization as a pup, but we have him in a shy dog class which is helping. He is very food motivated, loves to play trade and tug and is a huge cuddler.
