misslesleedavis1 My mom went thru this with bailey her bc, the breeder held her back for a month while my mother sorted out the move. Breeder was happy to help out but bailey spent her time with other dogs mainly and just the breeders family, she was scared of alot of things but patience really paid off with her..also she clicker trained her and one of the things they did was "check it out" the old girl is 12 now sometimes I still have to tell her to check it out lol

SunCzarina Where was she from 8 to 11 weeks if you just got her last week? Is she from a rescue or from a breeder?

For all the best of intentions, you can't comfort her when she's scared. Quick pet, laugh it off , silly girl that's just the wind. Otherwise you're accidentally teaching her that it's okay to be scared of every little thing.

Chip18 First step is going to be time and patience! I can tell you what "I" would not do. No dog parks,, no dog to dog introductions, no early socialization with strangers, feeding treats and people, he will never see again getting in his face!

This is a policy I would follow later on, right now you need to let your puppy know she can trust you.

You have to build a bond, something must have happened before she got to you? I have never had "this" happen, hopefully others can offer further insight.

I recently got a puppy a week ago she is now 3 month and she is scared of everything! I don't know what to do with her She is scared of the wind and refuses to go outside to potty! I am not sure what the correct steps are to getting her to not be scared of things. Right now I just sit beside her to make her feel safe until she runs back inside.
