jamesthompson1025 It has been 6 weeks since Princess had the second round of stem cell therapy. Unfortunately her condition has continued to worsen. We are still hoping that there might be some delayed benefit but, at this point, there are no indications the treatment is working. We understood the odds of stem cells making any positive difference were not good from the beginning, however, I believe stem cell therapy for DM will eventually be refined and become a beneficial tool. Princess will begin using her new wheelchair within the next week or two as she still attempts to be the leader of our pack on the daily 1/2 mike walk to the mailbox.

JakodaCD OA I should probably make a separate thread for this, and probably will, but wanted to add this.

My cousin has a corgi who has DM, she's been in 'wheels' for awhile now, with no rear leg movement at all. She via her vet, started her on this Harmonic Medicinals The "critical care" to detox. and has her now on
cordyceps/lions mane/ some reishi that she's gotten here 1stChinese Herbs Bulk Herb Supplier (altho she said these can be purchased cheaper via amazon/ebay)

Plus laser/massage. Anyhow, this girl has been moving and has feeling in her legs again!! She still needs her 'wheels' at this point, but she is somewhat using the legs.

She also told me, she actually saw her lift her leg to pee just yesterday!

Now obviously, I nor she, can say this is a cure, or just how much further the dog will go, but this dog is improving, where there was no movement feeling, there is now movement and feeling!

The base for all the stuff listed above is mushrooms..Just wanted to pass that info along

jamesthompson1025 Thank you to everyone for your kind words. Princess is recovering from her surgery to remove the needed fat to synthesize the stem cells. She had her first round of treatment on Wednesday 3/26 and she will be going back for round #2 this week. I will keep posting updates.

RebelGSD I am wishing you all the best with the treatments. I have seen two dogs that did great after the treatment. Those were bone marrow stem cells. Please keep me updated about the progress. My vet expected improvement after 4 treatments, but I saw improvement after two.

Jakesworld I wish Princess all the best. I'm very interested in knowing if stem cell treatment is helpful. I too lost 2 GSDs to DM. They were 11 &12 years. At least they had lived long lives with lots of love. It's still SO Heartbreaking! DM is horrible ! I hope her treatments are successful and give her many more years. Sending prayers your way.
