I take old marrow bones and smear a bit of peanut butter in them for a reward at times....

Thank you! How long does it take your dog to clear out the marrow? One sitting? Is it ok to refreeze them if they don't? What a sweet gesture to take them to the shelter once they are done! I am sure those dogs love it.
Thanks so much!
Oh and one more comment for you...Go Wolfpack! Hahahaha! NCSU Class of 2000! ;-). I miss North Carolina sooooooo much! Grew up in Johnston County!

|TAR HEEL MOM||I buy them frequently and as soon as my two eat all the marrow out, I wash them carefully and take them to the shelter for my dogs there. It's amazing to watch how much the shelter dogs love the bones, even without anything in the middle|

Doggie doggie where's your bone?
My four month old pup loves frozen marrow bones, but after he chews them for a while, he hides them under "his" bush outside. He also hides his balls and even the sprinkler head under there! He takes it straight to the door and if I don't open the door, he will hide it behind the chair. He will hand it straight over if I ask him to drop it.
How long are they generally good? I have seen some on the forum say you refill the used bones once they are cleaned out with frozen pumpkin, chicken broths etc. once the dog has eaten all of the marrow. He has yet to clean one out totally on his own. Should I refreez them or go ahead and clean it out with a knife to use for later or throw it out? Or just leave it under the bush?
