Neko Wha! that looks cool. By the time i get it he will need it off anyway so now i know for next time.

We tried the donut and that failed immediately.

Cassidy's Mom I've had much better luck with the BiteNot collar than a cone: Home Page

I've never actually had to use anything for speuters, but when Halo had a gigantic hot spot on her side that she wouldn't stop licking, the BiteNot worked great. What I like about it is that it does not get in the way of eating or drinking, she could get through the dog door wearing it and in and out of her crate, it just prevented her from turning her head far enough to lick her side. Since her activity didn't need to be restricted, she could even play ball in it!

Neko 75mg of diphenhydramine and 37.5mg of acepromazine does not sedate my dog.

My sister in law said this is enough to put down her horse.

today is day 4 and we cut back the ace.

RebelGSD One of my fosters figured out how to totally destroy the cone within 10 minutes by crashing it into walls and doors. After three cones I gave up :-)
Good luck!

Neko I talked to the vet and he wants Zeus more sedated until Saturday. We are using ace and banadryl as he wants to go play ball.... totally crazy dog.

Surgery site looks amazing, clean, pale, no red or even pink, no bruising, all dry, very well done.

Neko Jak he does get stuck everywhere.

Well we told the vet that banadryl did not work, we decided to give it a shot instead of ace this morning. I guess we have never given a proper dose and now that he had proper amount it's been 20 mins and he is peacefully sleeping across the entire bed. (Bed is one step on the ground) so it's safe.

Love our boy and hope this hernia heals smoothly. we gave him a brake from the cone last night fully supervised.

We were not told to do crate rest, just to keep him from touching it and leash walk no jumping or playing. So hopefully we are doing ok O_o

JakodaCD OA omg LOL also love the car pic!

When I did have one on mine, I"ll never forget in the middle of the night I heard a noise, turned on the light, his 'cone' was flat against the wall, he was standing there not moving, like "where am I and why can't I go forward" LOL

Hope he can lose the cone soon!
