GSDluver4lyfe Genetically a sable is a sable. Aesthetically, I'd say a dark sable. Her coloring looks similar to my boy. He's redder on his legs, shoulders and head/ears but tanner throughout his body. She's a beautiful girl :-)

ElanixPre Thank you (: Is there a specific name for her color of sable or is she just a general ol' sable?

Help with Color?

Hey, I have a female GSD and I'm trying to figure out what color she is. I looked at some pictures online, but to be honest, I can't figure it out alone.

She's 2 years old. She's pretty black all over with some light cream-tan around her hind quarters and on her body, but her legs are a really rich red-ish color. I don't have a good picture of her face, but she has a little bit of the same red around her eyes too.

No idea what her parents were.
