|PHXGSD||ok, well I threw it in the wash and i'm keeping a very very close eye on her for any abnormal signs. It was normal smell to me before I introduced it to her. Then after slobber got on it I smelled it.|

|Nigel||Alright, even though it's well used, it has a hint of burlap type smell, surprisingly little to no "doggie" smell lol! I'd send it back if you think something is wrong with it.|

|PHXGSD||I got it from Amazon. It shipped from Dean & Tyler from San Antonio. Nigel, when you say normal - what's that?|

|Nigel||Dean&Tyler? I have a jute one from them, but it did smell normal when new, at least from what I could tell, now it smells like dog slobber.|

|onyx'girl||Where did you get it? D&T is where?|

|PHXGSD||I've smelled burlap many times before. But not jute. It has a scent of something-o-sene.|

burlap and jute do have a distinctive scent.
It is just the natural way the fiber smells.

|PHXGSD||p.s. - my ol' factory identifies it as something similar to the scent of turpentine. Some sort of chemical. However, the handles do not smell of it.|
