blackshep I agree with keeping her crated for now. She's telling you she can't handle freedom just yet.

Mala 11 months is still too young to leave in a house alone unattended IMO. Id say 18-24 months is a safer age. I agree with Zlata. Continue to crate her. Too much freedom is no good for a pup

Zlata Some dogs take longer than others to mature. Ours just turned a year old, and he still cannot be trusted with full run of the house unsupervised. I would continue crating with lots of fun, engaging things in the crate to keep her occupied--frozen kongs, frozen marrow bones, braided bully sticks, you name it. A crated dog is a safe dog!

zyppi She's bored and probably begging for exercise.

Exercise her before you go to work and crate her.

She might get herself into trouble that will harm her.

11 months is still young.

Chewing!!!! ahhh

So I need advice! Olivia is going to be 11 months this month and we have been crating her when we leave for work. Lately we have been trying to trust her and leave her out. Well that's not going so well. First she knocked over my plant and destroyed it . then today she grabbed my sneaker and chewed and partially swallowed my shoelace! What can we do to teach her not to chew everything in the house?
