my boy diesel you dont want to start flinging a bunch of human meds at the puppy without knowing even what is wrong
hope you can get to the vet today
puppies from malls and pet stores are from puppy mills originally
she could be sick with anything from kennel cough to dog pneumonia and even distemper
it is critical to get the puppy checked out asap

Eiros I've never heard of a home remedy for a cold, but rest should help. Maybe running a humidifier, because the dry air can cause runny nose.

Is she from a pet store? Pet store dogs are from puppy mills, and can be prone to a lot more health and behavior problems than a well-bred dog. you could have gotten a dog from a reputable breeder that health certifies and titles their dogs for a price like that.

mya54321 We bought her from novi mall and she was $2500 and she was updated with all her vaccines. We just treated her for parasites with flagyl that her vet prescribed her which is common for puppies when they first come home from being around other puppies. But thanks we will make her an appointment with her vet, we were just looking for a behind the counter or a remedy to make her feel better in the mean time.

Cassidy's Mom It's possible it's just kennel cough, BUT you should take her to the vet to make sure it's nothing more serious. Even with KC a secondary bacterial infection can develop, which would require antibiotics, but often it will resolve on its own. Your vet can tell you what you can safely give her to treat her symptoms in the meantime.

gsdsar I agree. Dogs don't get colds the way humans do. She needs a Vet.

Good luck, she is uber adorable.

middleofnowhere Go to the vet NOW! Don't mess around with a coughing and sneezing puppy - could be something really nasty, could move into pneumonia if it isn't something nastier... GO TO THE VET NOW!

onyx'girl vet and don't let them give any vaccinations while her immune system is compromised. Let the breeder know too.

My 10 week old German shepherd has a cold

Attachment 187425 My puppy is only 10 weeks and she's coughing in the middle of the night and sneezing and her nose is always runny and in the middle of the night she sounds congested. I know I should be making her an appointment with her vet but I was wondering if their were any medicines that I can purchase her to make her get better. I googles some things and read some vapor and a vaporizer and even children's medicine. Is there anyone who can recommend something to help her? Thanks in advance!!
