If you have to have proof I would go to a vaccination clinic. Often times local vets or petsmarts do them and that way you don't have to pay for an exam at the same time.
Thanks for the info. I didn't think about a vaccine clinic. It's not that I'm cheap or don't think my dog is worth it, but I just can't see paying $60 twice for health exams just so I can get the booster vaccines 3 weeks apart as recommended. She should only need one health exam. which I will gladly pay for.

It all depends on the law of the jurisdiction, and how progressive they are or are not. Check this very carefully -- it varies a lot from state to state.
I plan on having my vet do the Rabies vaccine and heath check. I was looking into possibly doing the parvo/distemper vaccine myself so I didn't have to pay for 2 health exams. My vet charges $60 for a health exam just to walk in the door. Dr. Dodds protocol would have me paying for 2 $60 health checks in 3 weeks time.

What do I get? Recommendations on which brand/product? Where to buy a quality/safe product?
Also, we go to a dog park, I think they require bordetella.

Of course the vet will have to do the rabies vaccine.

Oh... do those of you who do your own vaccinations ever get challenged on the validity of your vaccines when getting dog park licenses or city animal licenses?

my boy diesel discuss the protocol with your vet and ask them to follow it
they will have the proper vaccines and then it will be official as well

Msmaria I have done a few at home. i did Dexters and his siblings first shots myself because i was afraid to take them to the vet at 6 weeks. Some of the trainers , groomers and doggie daycares won't take the home vaccination record I have found out. Check with them to see if they accept home vaccinations, because you wouldn't want to do them twice.

blackshep Honestly, I'd just get the vet to do them. It's good to take your dog in for a wellness exam anyway.

You can maybe have your vet run a titer test for the parvo/distemper when you go in for your rabies shot

Want to vaccinate at home...info/help

Hi all!

Ziva is coming up on her first birthday. I realize in a couple of months she will need to get her vaccine boosters. I would like to follow Dr. Dodds limited vaccine protocol. I started looking around for parvo and distemper vaccines online. I'm so confused?

For those of you who do your own vaccinating, I would love to get your help.
