my boy diesel no chip
it looks for parvo not immunity
i think they can be false positive

curious luke what made you take the puppy to a different vet?
did the other vet just release him to you?

i am glad you did but just wondered what the impetus was for taking him there

Chip18 The type of test, I think looking for immunity vs looking for the virus. Something like that?

blackshep Wow, sorry about the misdiagnosis, but that is a good update! Glad it's not parvo!

LukeTheDog He was taken to a second vet for a second diagnosis and there he tested negative for parvo. The vet did a full fecal analysis and he instead had a bacterial infection. He was prescribed antibiotics and anti-diarrhea and is now 110% better.

How is it that one vet can say he tested positive and was totally wrong? Did he just lie to my face or are the tests inaccurate?

I've posted on three threads and I have not been here long. For me that's three to many. I dealt with it myself (Parvo) 12 years ago,once for me is plenty..

katdog5911 Awwww. What a little cutie. I hope he recovers soon. Can't really give any advice on parvo. There are others here that know a lot more than me. It sure does seem like I have been reading a lot of posts about parvo and distemper lately...

my boy diesel totally understand
your puppy will not be able to get parvo again
but three weeks or so after he recovers from parvo you will need to restart his
vaccines because distermper is still a possibility
be sure to discuss this with your vet
restarting the vaccines that is
