This particular park is large and filled with 'dog people' if that makes sense. We've socialised all our dogs since they were pups with stable sensible dogs. No bad behaviour is tolerated, and all the dogs, small and large, are expected to adhere to the rules.
Every few weeks or so, someone will add another a new dog/pup/rescue dog to this particular park and that dog will- assuming they are not horribly fearful- adjust and flourish with multi-dog interaction. We don't use any harsh corrections, no e-collars, no prongs (this is not a judgement comment, by the way, it's just not the norm here) and even with intact dogs (like Archer and Pablo) there is no fighting (some posturing, which we allow to a point and then give the dogs an out command).
The current morning walk can on occasion involve interaction with maybe 20-40 dogs, including shepherds, dobermans, pugs ( 2 really funny sisters who delight in slobbering on the shepherds), a once aggressive husky, and a variety of other breeds. It's a genuine pleasure to watch the dogs 'problem' solve and learn to adjust to each other without resorting to attacks or fighting (please note, these are pets and not sports or high-energy protection dogs, I'm not saying all dogs are the same by a long shot) and that's what is what i am happiest about.

It was just so nice to have a nice sunny morning after all the wretched rain and wind, a true hint of spring, so I HAD to share, especially since I know so many of you are still buried under snow; nearly there lovely folks, nearly there!

Pack walk!

It was a beautiful spring day in Dublin today, a perfect day for a...pack walk ( that's Archer in the middle, trotting after Floyd (black Lab). There are actually 4/5 other dogs just out of shot. So great for the dogs to be about to meet up with pals and NO RAIN
