|DJEtzel||That's exactly how Patton's snow nose started. Then it got bigger/spread and got lighter. Now it's almost back to normal. I personally wouldn't be too concerned that it was anything else.|

|misslesleedavis1||Have you noticed it getting bigger? changing shapes? im curious about the plastic bowl comment i had no idea it could do that to a dogs nose.|

Golden Retrievers get snow nose too.
The loss of pigment could be due to eating from plastic if you use plastic bowls. It could also be just fading pigment due to genetics(sometimes called dudley nose), or vitiligo or infection(according to my vet).

|Juliem24||My huskies used to get snow nose like that...would start with one or two areas and gradually get larger. I thought only the husky type breeds got snow nose, though...Bit I have to admit I never investigated that. It would disappear in the summer, so maybe a reaction to the lack of strong sun in the winter, and they stop producing melanin?|

Does your dog eat or drink out of plastic bowls?? A plastic water bowl can discolor a dogs nose.

Maybe your dog is a brown noser? Sorry, that's all I got.
Great looking dog.

Oh yes I see now, I thought that was just shine.
Don't know, sorry. GSDs should have only black noses with no discolouring, if you are concerned I would mention this to your vet. I don't have any experience with the cold/snow so I'm not sure what you mean by snow nose, unless this is similar to freezer burn that you can get with foods in the freezer not packaged properly?
Sorry, not much help to you, I'm sure someone else will reply to you
