You have one hour to do an obedience demo. What do you cover?

I have volunteered to teach a "life skills" class at my place of work. We have one hour to do a demo and workshop on the topic of our choice, and I chose dog training. If you only had one hour to talk to a group of strangers about basic obedience, what would you tell them? In this hypothetical scenario, your audience is pet dog owners of various breeds, most of them under age 25.

I have some ideas already but I thought this would be fun to think about.
