In general West German Show Lines go for 2000$ and up. Working lines puppies are usually in the 1500$ range.
If you are looking specifically to get a WGSL pup, then 2000$ is reasonable.

If you don't have any plans to Show the Dog you don't have to spend $2k to get a well balanced PBGSD. The Breeder I got my Jake from sells her Pups for between $1500 and $1800 for a non breeding Dog. $5000 if you want the breeding Rights. I got my Jake from them when he was 4 months old and paid only $1,200 for him as we are his second owners. There were allergy issues with his first family and he was returned to the Breeder. In our Non Breeding Puppy sale contract, it was stipulated that we have him neutered between 18 and 24 months of age. If we didn't that was grounds for them to take the Puppy or charge us the difference for Breeding Rights.|

LundBorg Breeder Price
The lady at German Shepherd Dogs and German Shepherd Puppies California Kennels breeds GS and she sells them at a fixed price of 2000$ USD before tax.
The reviews for her breeding have been pretty good and people really seem to like them. The dogs get three of the basic shots and checked for worms and are sold at around 7-9 weeks old.
Is this too expensive for the puppy? Most other places sell for 1500$ right?
