Craigslist often advertises them in the pet section. Or google rat breeders (true!!) in your area. The ones in pet stores are usually a little older and not very well socialized but there are exceptions of course.
If they are already peacefully living together, that would work too.
Make sure the sexes are not mixed after 6 weeks or you may end up with a pregnant baby! They are fertile after 5 weeks. That's how they have conquered the world.

wolfy dog Yes, this is very common and do-able but get them when they are babies at around 5 weeks of age. Introducing adult males is tougher. Check out: Rat Forum. Just like this forum; tons of good info.
I got a neutered male from the humane society. They do not adopt out any animal that is intact, even rats.
Males are easy going while the females never sit still. Have fun with them. You are going to love it!

Two male rats

I've made the decision to get two rats; one for me and one for my boyfriend. I want to get two males; I really want a male, and I don't want to pay for the surgery to have their sex organs removed. Would this be acceptable? Two males housed together? I'd buy them young.
