|carmspack||Kingston Ontario ? It is too cold to have a young pup out for any extended time. They have poor thermoregulation -- . The effort to take the walk takes energy and chills the pup internally .|

Hates to leave yard when going on walk
I got a GSD puppy last week and I'm having trouble with going on walks. My puppy absolutely hates to leave the yard/vicinity of the house. One we're far enough away from the house, he loves his walk and walks perfectly, but getting there is difficult. While in the yard, he'll pull on the leash and try his hardest not to leave the yard. I've tried using treats, which works well, but I would like him to want to go for a walk (I don't want to have to use treats forever). I've also tried having him off leash, but he won't follow me past the yard. What should I do?
