Archer was exactly the same, easy going as a pup, house trained at 13/14 weeks, never used a crate, never used a prong or an e-collar, work him off lead in a large park every morning where there are countless dogs, big and small - just a brilliant solid dog who is an intact male and will be 2 in March.
I put a lot of it down to the fact that my husband and I work from home, so we were here to correct anything from the get go, although we left him loose in the house when we went shopping or had to go out.
He went though a little reactivity at around 10 months, but outgrew it within weeks and seemed more confident on the other side of it. The older he gets it seems to me the less he feels he has to prove anything around dogs or people, he likes people without being stupid around them, and I've watched him ignore dogs practically barking in his face while waiting for me to issue a command during work (our 'work' is search and find in the mornings, tracking items I throw and so on). Before him I had never owned a GSD, now I would never own another breed of dog again ( although I appreciate I got very lucky with Archer, his breeder is excellent and his sire is almost identical in terms of temperament).

|wolfy dog||Had a book once with the title "There are no problem horses, just problem riders". I guess it is the same as with dogs.|

Stella is 2 1/2 and would be perfect if not for her dog reactivity and itchy skin issues.... Am working on both so perhaps I will have a perfect dog one day....lol
Only other issue was a bout of giardia which seemed to last forever when she was younger...

|fredh||Besides a few bouts of Pano up to the age of 18 months, no other health issues with Jake. He will be 4 in September.|

|Discoetheque||No problems that I can speak of. Discoe only seems to get better with age, though she was an awesome puppy, as well. Never pooped in the house, obedience trained easily, always been in decent health, and was never destructive, just harmlessly mischievous. Can't wait for warmer weather to come back so we can be biking partners again.|

So far we have had the crazy water issue with shiloh which i am managing, the semi fear with strangers issue with tyson which i am managing, and the shake the border collie to death in the yard issue with tyson which i managed and has not happened since it has happened.
Little issues crop up here and there over time with lots of different dogs,

my dog had free roam of the house starting at 4 months old.
everything was fine untill he was 8 months old. at 8 months
old he decided to eat, shred, scratch the house and everything
in it. he was crated from 8 months untill he was 1.5 years old.
he was only crated when we weren't home. from 1.5 years to date
everything has been "peachy creamy".
