middleofnowhere Ok - Here's news for you. At 10 months she is not fully developed. They grow at least until they are two years old.

Coat color changes quite a bit until they are two. In some dogs I've owned, I can detect a color change with the seasons when they are older too.

Oh it was so tempting to tell you that they try to go into camoflauge in winter or that the coat changes due to the amount of excercise ....

Adult coat color change?

Is it normal for GSD coat's to change colors? Olivia is solid black, albeit for 10 hairs on her belly that are white. Starting with maybe 1-2 months ago, the fur between her paws turned tan. Now on her hind quarters, tan hair is beginning to show. It's not occurring between seasonal shedding and this is not her losing her puppy fur. She's 10 months and fully developed.

Anyone else have this happen? Absolutely no changes in diet, little less outdoor exercise due to constant ice and snow.
