blackshep arby, that is so sweet. I'm so glad you helped him get to a better home, he probably thinks he's dreaming! <3

Harry and Lola Good on you Arby, it must be such a difficult thing to do - seeing a dog in that condition, the fact he gave you a sloppy kiss makes my heart melt. Hopefully there is not too much damage done mentally and he can go to the best 'forever home' ever - something he more than deserves.

cethlen1621 (Totally agree with nicky, by the way on the whoever treated him like that should have dire consequences.) As horrible as Trooper's start was, your part of his second chance is so beautiful! It's people like you who helped rescue our guy & so many others, I say cheers, kudos, thank you & so many other happy words to this!

nicky Good for you for helping him! I usually can't read these threads because I get so upset. Whoever owned this dog should be starved to near death. No excuse for that. Do you have an address of previous owner? Just kidding, don't tell me.

Glad he has people like you to help!

Yes it was! Wow, that was something! He looks bad in pictures but it took my breath away and made me cry when I saw him in person. He is in really bad shape. He has punctures all over his body. I'm guessing he weighs about 30 pounds. And he has heart worm.
Anyway....I gave him a little food and water about every 30 minutes. The second time he heard the bag rattle he started wagging his tail and did so every time I got some food from the bag. At one point in the ride he stood up, leaned over my shoulder and gave me a big sloppy kiss. He melted my heart.
I can't wait to see his progress. I just know he is going to be a very handsome boy.

arby665 I would love to help him more but his final destination is not close to me. I am only doing one leg of his trip. Trooper has a long day ahead of him tomorrow. From what I understand he's going to a foster who specializes in fostering dogs with medical needs.
