wyoung2153 Honestly it may be her food. I'd try another fish based food and see.. Unfortunately for us owners that have dogs with itchies.. we have to do a lot of trial and error with many things. Food is the easiest to try.. and most pet stores have a good return policy on dog food if it doesn't work for you. I went through... gosh.. about 10-12 different foods to find titan a good one.. I was annoyed at times.. but in the end it's worth it.

I actually would suggest (after thinking about it more) Nature's recipe: Salmon, Sweet Potato and Pumpkin. Titan was, and is, so itchy all the time.. He got skin infections all the time. I finally switched to that above, and his skin and fur look wonderful! He was on that for about 2 years with no issue and we have since switched to Fromm Surf and Turf for other health reasons. Even if it's not that one in particular I would try a fish based diet just for the healthy skin part.

Ha, I'm guessing it is.. Thinking Turkey, based on the previous post, Haha.. how did I skip over that part??
I switched two weeks ago, and her coast is nice except for the back legs where she had been biting. Do you think I should put her on a cone and give her benadryl? Im scared to change her diet again. .. I have her on Blue basic Turkey and carrot, not turtle haha!!! The puppy food I had Hey on that she wasfine with was fish based so maybe that'll work. ... so confused.

mcast051 So so you think I should change her diet from blue basic turkey diet? Because she doesn't have loose stools, but the itching hadn't stopped. Not sure it's because she hasn't let it heal from the prior food I gave her.

wyoung2153 I would try a limited ingredient diet.. Natural Balance has some.. they really limit to one protein and you can go from there. You may want to do a food allergy test at the vet as well.. it can be very helpful in determiing what's bothering her. For now.. I would say benedryl for the itching.. 1mg per pound.. so normally I give Titan 3 1/2 pills (most are 25 mg pills).

Hello! Schatzi allergic to something, please help!!!

Hello there! I'm new here. I havea 11 month german shepherd named schatzi, she's a beautiful girl. I got her at two months from a breeder and feed her Blue -puppy food for cognition. About 1.5 months ago The store ran out so I decided to get Blue Buffalo for puppies. Almost immediately she got really sick, dirreah and vomit. She had worms even though I had her on Iverhart but the vet have me a dewormer and she no longer has. She had itchy skin and woyld not so scratching especially at night. So when I ran out of that food I decided to get her on Blue Buffalo basic, the turtle and carrot typ3 and she no longer had diarreah or vomit but her itching skin has not cleared! It's only her back legs but it's very scabby and dry and she won't stop. Please advise what I need to do. I went to petsmart and bought her oatmeal shampoo and bathed her to no avail.
