frostwolf7294 She isn't by far my first puppy. Also, I do use a crate. I think since I work at home alone, & my husband works a night schedule, I'm just feeling a little stir crazy & overwhelmed being with her all the time (not saying its all bad).

She is a GREAT puppy. Maybe I'm just adjusting to living the dog life again, & still adjusting to new marriage, job, & home.

Mishka&Milo I enjoy every minute of being with Mishka.... Getting to train her... And take care of her. I'll admit it does get frustrating when i am washing dishes and she runs through the house carrying my husbands favorite hat... But I know it's my fault for not keeping things off of the floor lol.

nicky I've never felt my girl was a prison sentence but I would get frustrated to the max with her. I didn't have anybody to tell me it gets better and suggest ways to help get through it. At times, I thought I was going crazy. Someone, who probably was sick of me complaining, suggested I give her away because she was too much puppy. At that second I knew I could and would get through it. We are still trudging along!

I did crate train her and let her stay in there to get used to not constantly being with me. That was hard for me. Eventually I started putting her in the crate in the car so I could go somewhere other than the house. Now, she loves to go with me anywhere and I dont use the crate anymore. If I go in somewhere she patiently waits in the front seat (without chewing the car to pieces) looking all bad daring someone to break into the car. It works for me/us.

Hang in there

Serbrider I'm one of those weird people who wants the puppy phase to be over as soon as possible.

I love dogs. Adult dogs. If this puppy I'm getting wasn't needing a home, the right breed (mostly... ), and my dog was doing so well with the neighbor's puppy... I probably wouldn't have gotten a puppy.

I can handle puppies, I have the patience and the willpower, but I have to say, even though I haven't brought her home yet, I'm already eagerly waiting for her to at least be 6 months old.

Does anyone else ever feel like they are starting to just be nothing but a dogsitter? It feels like years since I could just do what I wanted or leave the house without thinking of the dog.

I love her, but it is feeling like a prison sentence lately. Am I the only one??

At some point, before you even realize it, they smelt into your life and you couldn't imagine life not doesn't include rushing home to feed, or outside in the freezing cold, potty breaks. You are just feeling overwhelmed. It will pass. Use a crate.

G&Arabella My girl is almost 6 months now, at the beginning I felt overwhelmed and couldn't get her off of my mind. Now that shes starting to understand things better and realizes the things she can and cant get away with things are ALOT better. I feel bad when I can't take her to certain places with me (We pretty much go and do everything together) but now that I have her trained and she can focus, listen, and understand partial or small sentences shes's great. Once you have a good grasp on training and teaching her what she is allowed and not allowed to do it'll start to feel like shes more your child, or best friend rather than a small burden or like you're just dog sitting.
