I have always wanted another parrot, but the new owners who took over my apartment complex are crazy! They want $300-500 deposits and a monthly pet fee.

|onyx'girl||My Grey is like 100 birds in one cage. He makes so many other parrot noises (from being around so many) The cockatoo scream is the worst. He gets rewarded with his cover when he starts in on that.|

think he is s a male dna results are comming this week
he will call and do that fire alarm scream then my dog goes RUNNINgg down to him
Do your parrots do this also? call your dogs? we are not suppose to respond to it because it just makes them wanna do it more but my dog falls for it

|onyx'girl||Chances are he was handfed and most of the time handfed birds are tame/not fearful. Though when used for breeding that non-fear can turn to some aggression. Is this a male or female? I've always found females to be a bit more edgy.|

of course he has toys lots of them
hes in a massive cage now
his wings are not clipped he just walks all over and climbs everything he doesnot like flying like the other birds
i cant believe how tame he is for a bird that is not use to people
i am having some huge cages built hopefully soon, the kinds i want are not big enough to come through th edoor
my girl is not use to a bird that has no fear of her so shes really confused now and he LOVES my dog near him likes staring and attention, i dont trust my dog at all yet though, the cat is fine with him
yeah he is special never had a bird like him he has red eyes and uses his feet like a raptor

|xsaysayx||Caiques are a... special... parrot. I love them personally. They are THE 'clowns' of the parrot world and are a bit different than other species for sure lol|

Sounds like his wings are clipped if he's not flying?
They are characters! Ours was named Kiki and she would bite me then run away and say "Bird, Kiki, Bird...hahaha"...she cackled with glee when you would react with an "ouch" to the bite.
I'm nervous about dogs coexisting with birds, although I know a lot of people do it well. Sadly, we lost 2 parakeets in one middle of the night raid on the cage by our GSD and Collie. I had been warned because I saw them paying way too much attention to the goings on in the cage. I should have put the cage higher or gotten a stronger one that they could not break into.
Have fun with your little guy

Sounds like a caique to me lol. Boy they are characters, one of the funniest birds you can get. I don't have direct experience with them but from everything I've heard about them they are very, very active, playful, and 'monkey' is a good way to describe them lol.
You're so lucky, I've always wanted one
