First time GSD owner

I have been reading, and learning a lot about GSDs on this site. I have a GSD mix. Her mom was a rescue wandering near the freeway and saved by a friend. She didn't know the dog, GSD mix, was pregnant. She had 7 pups, but only 5 alive. One had puppy swimmers, and the vet wasn't sure she would survive. Sadly, all of the other pups contracted distemper and had to be put down. The only survivor was the pup who had swimmers, but the vet put her in a sock like brace and then, a few weeks later, was perfectly normal. I took her and named her Sarah. She is 7 months, 47 lbs and a wonderful dog! I feel lucky to have her in my life!
