LaRen616 When I shower/use the bathroom both dogs are always in there as well as 1 or 2 cats, every time.

Sinister sleeps or he chews his bone but Draco is a Peeping Tom and usually sticks his head in to check on me at least 4 or 5 times, sometimes he'll lick my leg and I'll yell "pervert!" Then he pulls his head out right away and chews his bone for a minute or two and sticks his head back in. He's a dirty bird.

P.S. the only one that poops in the bathroom is me.

blackshep How old is your pup?

Mine never got that worked up, but for the first few weeks she would sit on the other side of the shower door and cry until I got out of the shower. She got better with time and would just lay on the bath mat, but now she mostly leaves me alone.

Have you worked on crate training? Maybe when you go for a shower give your pup something like a pig ear to chew on in its crate and see if that helps?

belladonnalily My 9mo doesn't like it when I take a bath. But he's never hysterical. He did, however, get upset this summer when I was in the pool. I agree about crating him if he's so upset he poops himself.

With Tucker, I totally ignore his dramatics. But if he was making a mess I'd crate him to remove him from the situation. You may be inadvertently feeding his fear by talking to him and reassuring him.

doggiedad crate your pup when you can't watch him. start house training
your pup. i taught my dog the bathroom is off limits and that means
no sticking his head inside the door.

Courtney Rusty use to cry when I got in the shower when he was a pup. I don't know, someone told him German Shepherd mommies disappear when they shower. lol

I would stick my head out & say something quickly to calm him. He eventually stopped & started to lay quietly on the rug.

Does your pup poop all the time in this situation or did it just happen one time?

stmcfred Lola usually lays on the rug, occasionally I'll feel something furry and look down to see part of her head sticking through trying to lick my toes.

Mocha My female used to sit outside the door and cry the WHOLE time (never went to the bathroom though). She eventually grew out of it. I think it's just the puppy separation anxiety. GSDs want to be with you ALL the time !

GSDluver4lyfe If my dog is fast enough he gets in the bathroom before I shut the door then he just lays on the rug, but if not he just lays outside the door and waits for me to get out. Occasionally I will hear him trying to push the door or hit the handle or scratch it. But usually he just patiently waits at the door.

G&Arabella lol I don't let mine in there with me, I don't need an audience either. She just gets sooooo worked up over me showering... honestly I wonder if its because she doesn't like the tub...
