David Winners No discussion of gun laws or politics will be tolerated.

From the Board Rules:

Examples: the stimulus package, the mortgage buy outs, the auto makers buy out, anti-gun legislation, Gitmo and topics of similar content. This is a GSD board, not a Political board. The "No Politics" rule also extends to general political comments, and political comments about foreign governments.

I love it

I got myself an FNS-9 with the 10%, wish I would have got my AR then.. I'm honestly leaning to the M&P... But maybe my wife needs one too... And then I'll have both!

Anyone opinion on a M&P15 VS the Sig M400

I'm torn between the 1/7th twist vs the 1:8th

brembo I shot a M&P at the range the other day, well used hunting rig. It felt "right", smooth as silk and everything was nice and positive. The guy that had it knows his stuff, he's known locally as a guru. If he has one, it is very likely a solid choice.

The 1:7 the military is using nowadays is due in part to the tracer rounds which are longer(less dense makeup), and longer rounds require more spin to stabilize. My opinion is that for the most versatility the 1:8 is the way to go, you can drop down the grains into the 50s with the 1:8 and still have some decent results, the 1:7 might cause some problems(poorly jacketed bullets will spin to destruction).

The M&P is a fine rifle, the Sig is a fine rifle. I could not decide on a rifle so I built my own. I came REALLY close to dropping the coin on a Colt CRX, but it wasn't exactly what I was after.

I added up my costs the other night and it was just a hair over $2100, with optics. That's a custom barrel, Giessele trigger and top-shelf furniture and running parts. It'll run circles around most off the shelf rifles and it is configured exactly the way I want. 1400 sans the glass, which was not really a purchase, I scavenged it off another rig of mine for testing purposes. I'm not keeping a 36 power scope on a rifle that I'm not planning on going over 300 yards with. It's going to get an EoTech or ACOG, have not decided yet.

See that's what I was thinking, I think I'm going with the m&p 15 MOE, just to honestly save my time, and put an EoTech red dot on it with a Vortex Flip magnifier, I love slapping that **** thing out of my way and having iron sights there.

I've heard the 1/8th can take a lot more ammo, and that's what I want, and plus that MOE gear looks sick

The musket - no question.

Had a safety feature. When people got angry it has an advanced mechanism that did not allow you to spray and shoot without thinking things through
