Thank you!

Been talking to my husband, and he is on board with feeding raw. I'm excited!

My husband hunts and since October he's gotten 3 deer. The dogs are down to about 10 pounds of meat and no bone. Crazy thing is we don't even eat deer. He hunts for the dogs!

I also feed chicken/turkey necks, chicken feet, some organs, raw venison and sometimes beef when it's on sale at the store due to aging. I stay away from any bones that are considered 'support' bones from larger livestock. Unless it's beef knuckles.

My husband hunts and he'll bring home deer legs. I'll allow my dogs to strip them, then I take them up. I don't leave them to actually knaw on the bone itself. I think they are too hard of bones. But that's just my opinion.
Good to know, thanks! I'm really curious to see what kinds of deals I can find this afternoon!

Do you have any recommendations for how to save money on meat for dogs? We used to give our dogs raw chicken last year for a little while and it was just too expensive. Would it be acceptable to get leftover stuff from a butcher, like stuff that most people don't buy? Are pork bones safe for dogs like chicken bones are?

JakodaCD OA The raw I feed is premade, sometimes Vital, sometimes Nature's Select, whatever I happen to feel like adding to their diet.
